1933-1934 Mr Robert William Glass

Robert William Glass joined the North of England Institute of Mining and Mechanical Engineers as a student on the 10th of June 1899. He was President of the Institute from 1933 to 1934.

Glass was Manager of Axwell Park Colliery, which was owned by Priestman Colleries Ltd between 1908 and 1929. He was also Manager of Blaydon and Watergate Colleries during his time at Priestman Colleries.

Glass had a paper published in the Transactions (Volume XXI) ‘Endless-Rope Haulage at Axwell Park Colliery’.
