1942-1944 Lt-Col Henry Edmund Blackburne Daniell
Henry Edmund Blackburne Daniell was born on the 11th of February 1885. He was the son of Francis Henry Blackburne Daniell and Caroline Sophia Bence-Jones. Daniell married Iris Simpson, daughter of Colonel Sir Frank Robert Simpson (also a past President of the Institute) on the 21st of August 1919.
Daniell served in World War I with Durham Light Infantry and Royal Engineers. He won the Military Cross.
Daniell was appointed President of the North of England Institute of Mining and Mechanical Engineers between 1942 and 1944 after becoming a member in 1919.
Daniell was a director and agent of the Stella Coal Co. Ltd between 1933 and 1947, based at Hedgfield House, Blaydon
Henry Edmund Blackburne Daniell died in 1970.
