New opening times
The Institute will now be open on Wednesdays from 1.00pm - 7.00pm. The library is also open Monday to Friday 1-4pm. Other times are available by prior appointment; do contact the librarian if you would like to visit for a longer session or outside those hours.
"The Great Northern Miners" by Ken and Jean Smith
This new book from Tyne Bridge Publishing is available from the library for only £12.95. If you buy a copy from us then one third of the cover price goes to support the Institute and the library at no additional cost to you. The book is beautifully produced many full colour illustrations and gives a very informative overview of the life of a miner in the Northern coalfield.
