CONSTRUCTION.
This is a bonnetted Clanny lamp.
Gauze. One 28 mesh iron with cap.
Air inlet is from the holes near the bottom of the bonnet. Inside the bonnet the air is deflected upwards for 1 inch by a baffle plate secured round the bottom of the gauze. The air then passes through the gauze down to the flame. The escaping gases have a restricted outlet at the top of the lamp, a baffle plate within the bonnet having a clearance of about 1/16 inch.
Air shut off. A sliding shutter enables the air inlet holes in the bonnet to be closed, thus extinguishing the flame.
Lock. Screw lock on oil vessel. When the oil vessel is unscrewed a sliding standard can be lowered, thus enabling the bonnet to be unscrewed.
