Important: Where you search is very important as it can yield very different results. There are 3 ways of searching for the information you seek:

Search the website
We apologise that the search box in the top right is currently unavailable. Please use Google's Advanced search option to search the website by clicking through to Advanced then limiting the domain to "www.mininginstitute.org.uk" and adding your keywords as normal. This will only search the website contents - such as papers, categories of books, special collections, reports and more. What it cannot do however is search through the actual library catalogue - to do this you must use the 'Search the Catalogue' tool.

Search the catalogue

In order to search through our actual library catalogue you will have to use this tool. When searching with this tool you will be searching the same catalogue we have at the library as it is connected via the internet.

Search the Journals

Use this tool if you wish to search within the many journals held at the Institute. Currently those available include the Colliery Guardian and Mining Journal and over a hundred smaller journal runs. A complete list of the indexed journals will be available shortly.
